About this Publication
While we are in the midst of MeToo and are far away from sexual equality, it would be a tragedy if a brilliant mind such as Professor Chen’s were wrongfully convicted, robbing us of his ingenuity, spark, and love of life. This newsletter is to make sure that things that should be discussed are discussed, the charges being as severe as they are, and his work so important.
The Dr. Peter Chen Court Case column aims to cover all aspects of Dr. Peter Chen’s court case.
Professor Chen, was my academic advisor while I was studying computer science at the University of Michigan.
The university regularly outranks all Ivy League universities, Stanford, CalTech and MIT in Computer Science and Computer Engineering across the most prestigious rankings [1][2][3]. The only university that it has not outranked in recent years is Carnegie Mellon and in the entire CSE department, Dr. Peter Chen is the only Hall of Fame inductee and fellow of ACM — the organization that gives out the Turing Award. The Turing Award is known as the Nobel Prize for computer science.
